Australian Indigenous Doctors’ Association
We are a not-for-profit, member-based, professional association supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander medical students and doctors. Our purpose is to contribute to equitable health and life outcomes and the cultural wellbeing of Indigenous people. We do this by working towards reaching population parity of Indigenous medical students and doctors and supporting a culturally safe healthcare system.

We are the national body representing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander psychologists in Australia. AIPA is committed to improving the social and emotional well-being and mental health of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples by leading the change required to deliver equitable, accessible, sustainable, timely and culturally competent psychological care which respects and promotes their cultural integrity.

We are a not-for-profit, member-based, and is the peak representative body for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander nurses and midwives in Australia. CATSINaM’s primary function is to implement strategies to embed Cultural Safety in health care and education and the recruitment and retention of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples into nursing and midwifery professions.

We are an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community-controlled organisation that is focussed on building our vision our way. We lead from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander
deep knowledge and lived experience to influence and engage our collective obligations across the health community. We aim to improve eye health care for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities by driving sustainable operational and systems changes that will improve Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health and wellbeing.

The First Peoples Disability Network Australia (FPDN) is the national organisation of and for Australia’s First Peoples with disability, their families and communities. We actively engage with communities around Australia and represent Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people with disability in Australia and internationally. Our goal is to influence public policy within a human rights framework established by the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disability and the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples. Consistent with our principle of community control, our organisation is governed by First Peoples with lived experience of disability.

We are the national Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander organisation that partners with communities to address the ongoing trauma caused by actions like the forced removal of children from their families. Our work helps people create a different future.
We work with communities to create a place of safety, providing an environment for Stolen Generations survivors and their families to speak for themselves, tell their own stories and be in charge of their own healing.

We are the national member-based Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander allied health organisation and focuses on four key goals: support for members and their development; grow the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander allied health workforce; transform development of culturally safe and responsive health care and systems; and lead the allied health sector in improving health and wellbeing outcomes.

We aim to promote improved standards of Indigenous oral health, including through supporting Indigenous dentists and dental students.
We started in 2004 and was originally called Indigenous Dentist Association Australia.
In March 2022 we changed our name to Indigenous Dental Association of Australia to better reflect our membership.
Our membership includes Oral Health Therapists, Dental Hygienists, Dental Prosthesis and Dental Therapists.

We are Australia’s national institute for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health research, named in honour of its Patron, Dr Lowitja O’Donoghue AC CBE DSG. The Institute works for the health of Australia’s First Peoples by investing in quality research, knowledge translation, and by supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander researchers. It operates on key principles of Indigenous leadership, a broader understanding of health that incorporates wellbeing, and the need for the work to have a clear and positive impact.
The Institute’s work encompasses all areas that contribute to the health and wellbeing of our people, including the social and cultural determinants of health and wellbeing. Its work is ambitious, rigorous and culturally safe.

We work to ensure Elders can access support and care that is culturally safe, trauma aware and healing-informed, and recognises the importance of their personal connections to community and Country.

Torres Strait Regional Authority
WE are an Australian Government Statutory Authority established on July 1 1994 under the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Commission Act 1989. We aim to improve the lifestyle and wellbeing of the Torres Strait Islander and Aboriginal people living in the Torres Strait region.
